How we collect, use and protect your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch.

Last updated:

This policy explains how Antoine Garden Designer (Antoine Hadjialexandrou, garden designer and landscaper; “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us, and the rights you have. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the data protection law of the Republic of Cyprus.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Antoine Hadjialexandrou, trading as Antoine Garden Designer, Pavlou Mela, Paphos 8047, Cyprus. E-mail: info@antoine.cy · Phone: +357 99 585 385.

2. The data we collect

  • Details you give us. When you send an inquiry, write to us or call us, we receive your name, e-mail address and phone number, where your garden is, the services you are interested in and anything you tell us about your project, including any photos or plans you choose to send.
  • Technical data. When you visit the website, our hosting provider automatically processes your IP address and basic information about the request (such as the page requested, the date and time and your browser type) in order to deliver the pages and keep the website secure.
  • Usage data. With Google Analytics we see which pages are visited, how visitors found the website (for example through a search engine or Instagram), their approximate location (country and city) and the type of device and browser. We look at this information only in aggregate.

We do not use advertising or remarketing tools, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.

3. How we use it and why

We use your personal data:

  • to answer your inquiry, arrange a consultation and prepare a proposal — steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • to carry out and manage the work we agree with you (performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • to keep accounting and tax records as the law requires (legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR);
  • to run the website and protect it against misuse (our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR);
  • to understand how the website is used and improve it, with Google Analytics (your consent, which you give by using the website — see “Cookies and similar technologies” below; Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

We will not send you marketing messages without your consent, and we never sell personal data.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses Google Analytics cookies (“_ga” and “_ga_Q42HBFBZHQ”), which tell visits apart and expire after up to two years. By using the website you consent to the use of these cookies. If you do not want them, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on; the website works without them.

The website also stores two small technical values in your browser’s session storage: one notes that you have already seen the opening animation during your visit, the other that you are moving between pages of the site, so that the loading screen is shown only once. They contain no personal information and are deleted when you close the browser tab. We do not use advertising cookies.

5. Services we use

  • Hosting. The website is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a service of Google. Google processes the IP addresses of incoming requests to deliver the website and to detect abuse, and keeps them for a few months. Google may process data in data centres outside the European Union; such transfers are covered by Google’s data processing terms and appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Contact form. When you send the contact form, your message is passed to a small program on Google Cloud (part of Firebase) and e-mailed to us through the mail server of our web developer, Air Balloon Ltd (hosted by SiteGround), to our mailbox at Microsoft 365. It is not stored on the website.
  • Analytics. The website uses Google Analytics, a service of Google. Google uses your IP address to estimate your approximate location and does not store it in Google Analytics. Google may process data outside the European Union; such transfers are covered by Google’s data processing terms and appropriate safeguards.
  • Instagram posts. The latest posts shown on the home page are provided through Behold (behold.so). Your browser loads them from Behold’s servers, which therefore receive your IP address.
  • Links to other websites. The website links to Instagram, LinkedIn and Google Maps. If you follow these links, the privacy policies of those services apply.

6. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only when it is needed: with the service providers who help us run the website and our business (such as our hosting and e-mail providers and our accountant), with suppliers or partners involved in your project if you ask us to carry out the work, and with public authorities where the law requires it.

7. How long we keep it

  • Inquiries that do not lead to a project: up to two years after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Client records: for as long as the project and any follow-up work (such as maintenance) continue, and afterwards for as long as Cyprus tax and accounting law requires.
  • Technical data: kept by our hosting provider for a few months.
  • Analytics data: kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • have it deleted, or its use restricted, where the law allows;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • receive the data you gave us in a common electronic format (data portability);
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent — for analytics, by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser or with Google’s opt-out add-on (see “Cookies and similar technologies”).

To exercise any of these rights, e-mail info@antoine.cy. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus (www.dataprotection.gov.cy, commissioner@dataprotection.gov.cy).

9. Security

We take appropriate measures to protect your personal data. The website is served only over a secure (HTTPS) connection. However, no transmission of data over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.

12. Contact

For any question about this policy or your personal data, write to info@antoine.cy or call +357 99 585 385.
